Leprechaun Popcorn

You can also use this as Leprechaun Bait to try to catch him while he is up to his tricks.  Last year he did all kinds of stuff to our house including turning our milk green, opening all of the cupboard doors and drawers, he even turned our toilet water green!  I wonder what he will be up to this year!  My boys will build a trap for anyone and the Leprechaun is no exception.

To make this delicious St. Patty's Day Treat you only need a few things:

  • Popcorn (either air popped or microwave just be sure it is plain or kettle)
  • Green candy melts or white chocolate and green food coloring
  • Green Sprinkles
  • green M&M's (I used both regular and mini because I had both on hand)
First pop the popcorn .  We use the air popper because it is healthier and the kids like to try to catch it as it flies out.  Then melt the candy melt/chocolate and drizzles over popcorn with butter knife.  Shake on some sprinkles.  Toss the popcorn and repeat.  Then add in the M&M's.  Let it sit for about 5 minutes to let the chocolate harden and prevent chocolatey green fingers!
The kids can make this with very little help.  I just have to make sure Nathan keeps his fingers out of the M&M's!  They are his favorite!
